Very sweet! I love it and it should have won 1st place but that is my thought. I love it and I think it should have deserved a higher place. I LOVE IT!

Thanks everybody for the nice comments and criticism. This was a great Christmas gift.
I agree, the lighting could have been better and I also wish the cat looked straight in her eye, but to tell the truth, he was not very willing to pose and so I had only a few attempts :) nevertheless, we have a very affectionate relationship with him, but the thing is he decides the moments... Great thanks to my elder daughter for posing (she was willing, lol).
I did not add comments at the time of submitting, so here are the details:

Lighting is fully natural, mid afternoon, east looking window, cloudy but not overcast. I fastened a semi-transparent plastic sheet to the window to get the homogenous backdrop.
Prost processing steps, other than crop and resize were:
- Neat Image to get rid of some noise patterns in the background
- Sepia Toning
- Adjusted Brightness higher a bit

A great image with lighting that generates a very warm glow in the viewer. The composition is at once superior because of the duos facial expression. 8

Awesome picture! The black and white . . . or cepia tone makes it really neat looking. This is another one of my 10's! Good job!

nice shot, it is really charming. i like the sephia tone.

i guess this will achieve more dept if the cat is looking to the lady's face or directly to her eyes.

Composition: 7, (Composition as it relates to the challenge) I would've liked to have seen the subjects reversed. Otherwise very good comp.
Technical: 8, The lighting may be just a little too dark.
Appeal: 7, I'm not a cat person. :-(
Challenge: 8
Overall Score: 8, (weighted)

This is so good, so sharp and well-composed. I with it were either a little lighter on the woman or a little darker, I can't decide - but I love the picture.

This photo has a very special atmosphere. The hue you chose for the background goes well with the cat's fur and the model;s skin. What is the background, by the way? Also notable is the crescent reflection in the cat's eye.

Great. The duotone works well, so does the negative space. I'd have mirrored the picture (my eyes ar used to start at the upper-left, like most European, American etc eyes). This would have given a stronger effect to the guiding lines. I like how the picture is split into two triangles, whether that was intended or not, it look very harmonic. The soft focus adds to this. I guess you earn a 10 :)

There are only 2 pictures I consider 10's (not that I'm an expert!) in this challenge, and this one is definitely one of them. *Gorgeous*

I like the idea. I would like it better if there were more detail in the faces. Maybe a bit brighter and sharper.

sweet, but a little muddy for my tastes. I like the delicacy of the lighting though. especially on the human lips.
