 Standing unprotected in the rain, this photo was taken rather quickly. Freezing raindrops covered the branches of this crab apple tree like tiny pearls. I used my 24-70 2.8L at 65mm wide open. I wish I had tried using a smaller aperature to get the tip of the branch in focus too, although that may have detracted from the fruit.

In photoshop, I sharpened a little, then used levels to bring out the colors in the background, applied neat image, and added the white border.

I titled this photo Suspension because it illustrates that concept in several ways...the fruit is suspended from the tree, and in ice, and its life has been suspended until a thaw.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." This definitely fits. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Yes. Lovely in all respects.
