Crique by Silver Fox.
Greetings Gordon.

There are two main thoughts that lead me to your photograph, the first is the blue Arches and the second is the moving figure at the end of the
photograph.
Your DOF from front to rear is excellent and in focus. You've even got the hole in the 9th square in focus as is the bright object between the 2nd and 3rd Arch. The lighting coming through the Arches is just enough to create shadows which add something mystical to your photograph.
Now, the girl in the background. Was she put there on purpose, or did she just happen to walk by at the wrong moment? Doesn't matter, for me she neither adds or takes away from the photo. I would prefer not to have her there, but would prefer to have the darkness at the "end of the tunnel".

You have excellent composition, colour is great and clarity is also there. The angle that you've taken the shot from is an excellent choice. The eyes do not wander around, but are led directly from the front arch all the way to the back (except for that little white spot)to the female figure.

Good job, Gordon!

Love it! One of my favorites this week.
I'm back to say that this is one of my top three, after finishing my voting. Good luck!

Wow! Wonderful work.

The blue and the shadows caught my eye straight away in the thumbnails. Excellent composition, clarity and of course colour. Beautiful work and GL.

nice tone and love the fact that there is a person at the end some shots have no 'ending'

Hmmmmmm.... After careful consideration... from a 7 to an 8. :-) Great shot but IMO the blue duotone is a bit too strong with this type of architecture. A softer, more subtle blue would've given it more impact. The angle is great and the fact that the person isn't well defined got me looking closer... it caught my attention!

Very dramatic with strong lines and colour. I like the soft ghostlike subject--I wonder how this looked in natural colours of black and white---well done

I really like this shot a lot. I wish the subject was stationary and not blurred though. Colors are great.

I love the blue and the repeating pattern. Very strong feeling, yet mysterious.

nice lighting and shadow. a little bit too much on the cool side of the colors for me, but it makes it feel a bit more somber, like at a mausoleum or something

One of my favourites this week. Great composition. Perfect focus and the blue tone is perfect.. Great lines and very interesting. Overall a very interesting shot that gets high score from me. Well done and good luck.

The ghostly figure at the end of the line of arches is really good. I really like all aspects - composition, execution, and meeting the challenge - and it has WOW.

This is nice, great color..

Nice perspective shot, but not for leading lines. And if that blur at the end is supposed to be the subject. you might try to have them stand still.

The International Commitee for the Preservation of Yellows and Reds denounces with vigor this act of deliberate discrimination. Good shot otherwise. I like the monopod creature in the back.

oooh...great color! i love this...10

Very nice color! Fantastic perspective shot! Very interesting the way the pillars lead you to the blurred image at the end. GREAT SHOT
03/04/2003 07:51:50 AM
Wow! Darn that person in the image...
03/04/2003 06:50:08 AM
Very nice. The blurred person in the distance makes it interesting and I like the blue tinge to the columns.
03/03/2003 10:26:22 PM
The subject is too blurry/hard to make out, and takes away from the picture. It's a good idea but the subject is not strong enough.
03/03/2003 05:05:21 PM
Excellent shot. Very nice colors & cropping. Good leading lines photo. 10.
03/03/2003 04:50:36 PM
excellent shot.. i love the blue tone and the lines lead me right to your subject.. the lines seem to overpower the subject a little, but a great shot, none-the-less... - setzler

Very nice! Love the colours!
03/03/2003 11:02:55 AM
A sure winner. The ONLY thing that throws me off is that it looks like a person down at the far end, and I wish that tiny distraction wasn't there. But that's just me! An amazing shot for sure.

Very nice shot, love the lighting and color. I would have liked to have seen more of a focal point (or a clearer one) at the end of the arches.
