Last minute idea that seems dubious to me but what the hey. I think this challenge will draw some nice shots.

Letters dangling by threads in front of the upright Scrabble classic wood board. Used my 420ex flash bounced off a white board and a handheld halogen light. Cropped, USM, levels and curves, cloned out the threads and some other reflective distractions.

Canon 50mm f 2.8 macro lens.

very interesting play on the challenge. excellent composition and choice of colors, as well as near-great control on the lighting (i know the tiles are white, but the tops appear blown). i am really looking forward to finding out who entered this, as this is representative of the works of only a handful of dpcers. really expect to see this on the front page. good luck!

Original with good lighting. I thought you had used a glass sheet but now I am not sure - I look forward to seeing how you done this - well done

Well this is clearly not a stopped motion shot (if you managed to pull that off a ten would not come close to rewarding your skill) but even still - I Have no idea how you managed to do this (scrabble tiles don't exactly have anything to attach a thread to). Inventive and aesthetically pleasing. 9.

I'm not yet a member, so I dont get to vote, but I think this photo is fantastic! I love the use of the scrabble board as a backdrip, and the "floating" letters are great. The title caps it off! Well done!

Very uplifting, a feeling of floating.

Clever. The block pattern in the background does seem appropriate and adds to the Scrabble theme. Shot through a glass surface? 7.

I like how the tiles seem to float in the air. This is a perfect "Bokeh" background. Good job!!!

totally uber. This is only the 2nd photo I have seen for this challenge, but my guess is that it won;t get much better. I am betting you get a ribbon. Nice job. How many shots did it take to get it right?

Way cool shot. My only beef is that the top of the tiles are all blown out. Great imagination. Good luck.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Present. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Yes. Very creative shot. Can't imagine how many tries it took!
