WOW!, the tones here are amazing they create mood throughout the photo, love the stopped motion too!

Very powerful image. I don't realy like the sky on the right corner. A vertical composition and a more close up to the gaizer itself would have given even more strenght. Maybe a faster shutter speed would have frozen better the moment. Even like this I'll give it a 8

Nice power shown here. Seems a tad dark though.

Almost looking evil in a way, this is a powerful image. A bit too centered for my taste, but too nothing away from it because of it. Not sure if image compression or over-sharpening is to blame for the harshness in some areas. Nice shot though ((7))

Great toning and contrast mood for this subject. Because of that it could be a 'geysir' , or just as well a heavy object falling into the water, a deptcharge exploding or a meteor hitting the surface of a planet.
Good effect.

I like the B&W conversion and anger in the sky. Image does appear a little grainy, but I feel that was what you were going for. Good luck.

so, you're hoping for the heida touch... i really hope this year to have the problem you had, picking a single image out of the 1000s shot. you really have an incredible portfolio, and i'm everso thankful that you share it so freely. good luck in this challenge, and this year, as well!

Excellent timing on this photograph. Good choice to have it in B&W.
My only little niggle is that since you chose to have it centered, they geyser should have been dead center.. it seems to me that it´s a little bit to the right.

Good job!

Nice shot. This should have done well on the movie titles challenge for "Deep Impact" or something similar. Beautiful shot but very grainy in parts. I like it and think it would make for an excellent print. well done and keep up the good work in 2005. <8>

Cool photo.. Just a littel over worked in ps. (Happens sometimes to my also)
This burnt B&W photo workes well here. I just personally dont like the white stains in the smoke above Geysir (noise). Neatimage could have taken care of that.

the tonality reminds me very much of an Ansel Adams photo. Great job.

I've never been to a geysir, so I don't know how 'regular' they are, but this looks like great timing to me. The contrasty, grainy look contributes nicely.

This is awesome... the photo is surreal, with the appearance of the geyser and sky meeting... only drawback is the graininess.
