looks like the photographer forgot to focus the image. the blurring adds nothing interesting to the image.

For those who asked, the original was as sharp as a tack and there is no Gausian Blur used here.

Almost abstract feel to this photo. I actually love the fuzziness and blur of this shot, the only distracting bit is the centre fringe on the left side of the dark triangle.

Bet your hating the other brear shot! Is a little bit too poor in the quality department, but somposition is good, as is exposure.

Interesting soft focus, though it feels like this could use an extra kick to make it stand out amung the competition. Maybe the use of some White Balance setting to cast a tint, or maybe playing with the brightness level (going really dark or up to really bright) could give an interesting effect.

I like the compostition per se but the black lump under the lower bears neck seems odd, image seems to have a Gausian blur in a strange way....love Polar Bears

you might have cropped that paw on the right - very nice fuzz though and I like the two close profiles

Wondering how this meets the challenge. Was the focus or lack of on purpose?
If I had the chance to take shots of Polar bears I would not hope any turned out like this.
I am perplexed and puzzled. Only a 5 from me ...sorry

I'm suspoecting Gausian Blur and you sure used it well. The capture in itself is perfect and the blurring has an excllent effect. Good luck.

this seems more of a post-processing technique rather than a shooting one. Very nice subjects, well executed.
