 A 300w light, a simili-softbox, a simili-reflector, etc...

Levels, saturation and USM.

The DOF is UNintentional. I didn't want any, but my cam didn't give me the choice, and it's basic editing only. :( Maybe I'll post a DOF-free version of it after the challenge, should the photo prove popular enough.

This is an amazing photo. I am dissappointed that you didn't place much higher. I never give a "10" and I was tempted to on this photo. You did a much better job than some of the top tens. Keep that in mind.

Simple yet effective... Only possible suggestion... did you think of blue ink to give it a splash of colour?

Yes....another boring pen shot but no! This got high marks from me because of the splatter. A simple thing as that has made this shot one of my top picks. You have definitely captured my interest. Top 10.
