Beautiful shot. One technical correction. What you are seeing is not steam, which is invisible. You are seeing steam that condensed as minute water droplets. Good thing it did or your shot would not be as great as it was. Congratulations!

OMG I can't believe I finally did it! Thank you all for voting on it. Couple of quick notes:
First off Imagineer. What you are seeing is not the polution coming out of the stack. It is steam. The particulates that come out of the stacks are invisible most of the time. Not to say that there aren't bad things coming out, just most of the time you can't see them. When the temps drop below 20 degrees F. a wonderful thing happens. You get the most awesome steam formations coming out of them!
BradP. I didn't do much to the shot at all. Simple levels and curves to make the sky dark again. Boosted the red saturation a little to make the lights pop (also turned the steam a little yellowish but had to live with it with the time I had to process it.) Sharpend slightly, cropped, resized sharpened again to taste. That's all.
Personal note: I'm truly amazed that this shot scored as high as it did. I took this shot for myself with the challenge theme in mind. The Board of Water and Light towers (winkin' blinkin' and nod) are the tallest things in boring old Lansing MI and look really cool at night when it's colder then ______ out. I don't really understand why it did so well. Not that I'm complaining! Guess I gotta stand by my oft forgotten rule of thumb. Shoot for yourself and fit it into the challenge when it applies.
Thanks again to all.
TC
