 Hey kids here is a fun fact; did you know that the flamingo gets its pink coloring from the dye in the krill it eats? Sorry I had to justify the title.
I shot this guy at 500mm (with the 1.4 coupler using my new monopod For a focal length of 1120mm witht he crop factor)at the Oakland zoo in another effort to shoot the most common subject and get the coveted " thinking inside the box " award. I was thinking flamingos or cherry blossoms but I bet we get more flamingos.
Burned in the feathers below the beak a bit Mushed the colors around to loose some of the blue cast, cropped square and usmed at 120,.5,0 saved for web and sharpened again at 60,.5,0.

Nice ambient light - good snap. It's noisy but who cares? Doesn't stop it being a good photo.

Nice work. Over saturated slightly but this is a "pink" challenge I guess. Evidence of sharpening around the brighter side of the head of your flamingo but that's just nit picking. 9

I like the way the light falls on the neck and the feathers on the right. This is more the colour I like to see compared to the other flamingo shots in this challenge.
