This is the image that was UNFAIRLY D.Q.ed. I sincerely followed all the rules!

Okay, over a year and half has passed; I am still recovering from an injury and surgery that had me on the sidelines for too long. It seems that almost every brutal thing that life has to offer has come and, for the most part, gone. I am back and looking at this image makes me laugh at myself for my ridiculously intense response regarding the D.Q. of this image.

Ah, to have a life with so little conflict and heartbreak that I would freak out over something so insignificant as a D.Q. in a photo contest...tsk,tsk, tsk.

So, I find myself back here for the joy of sharing a passion for images with others, simply that and nothing more.

Blessings to all who pass this way.

JelloPhotog,
I agree with some of the posters here that this was an unfair DQ. I have been nothing more than an observer here DPC for some time, and have had a chance to extinguish my own bias for many of the challenge entries. From what I have read of most of the rules @ DPC, it seems to me that while these are 'digital' photo contests, the council is attempting to 'challenge' the photographer/artists by using only the simple/classic darkroom techniques. With this particular image, there are masking & "light painting" techniques used in standard darkrooms that produce this same effect by overexposing targeted areas of the film. Many of the old "photo-frauders" used this technique to create UFO's on film images. I apologize for such a long post. In closing, I will say again this entry was unfairly DQ'd as I believe the council overlooked this classic technique.

Finally, some justice! I have grown so sick and tired of images on DPChallenge being entered and winning that violate the rules form the OVER use of Photoshop. FINALLY, the powers that be have made the CORRECT decision and DQed one!!! It's about FREAKING TIME!

Very pretty picture. Soft, easy to look at. Rather interesting pose as well. Attractive model. Kinda looks like you. Is it?

Sorry for your DQ. Maybe the couch was considered a major element?

Thanks everyone for your amazing support! You have said such kind things about this image. I really was very proud of it, and I really thought I had done a legal job. The DQ took me by surprise and it certainly knocked my passion for this site and dp down a few notches.

What a beautiful picture. Sorry about the DQ, Babe. It really doesn't matter what the SC thinks. It's the image that counts.

It is totally! Read this thread all though I dont like to stir up stuff but I do like try to be understanding and find things out why? Is site council following all the rules themselves?thread
site council is voluntary for dpc they dont have to do it or they could add some to help since this is a growing site. I hope they will think of something but I feel like these things are not looked at in the right way. I

I had not finished voting but I kept looking at this one its neat..

Can we see the original so we can see for ourselves which major element the SC believed was moved?

KDO - What "major" element did they say you removed. This photograph is great, amazing, to me. I love the effect and from what I see [without seeing the original] it looks as if is within the 'advanced' editing rules. I liked it because of the natural look to it. You did not over do the pink with a soft feel, it has emotion. For what it's worth you get a 9 from me. Sorry about your DQ.

EDIT: Please when you feel better and have the time re-name the image because it is going into my favorites and I believe an image this good deserves a title. Thank you for sharing your work.
