Our rescued-from-the-shelter pooch. He was found as a stray and turned over to the animal shelter. Several people tried to adopt him but he was too active for them. He requires a lot of exercise! I sure hope he doesn't get any negative comments 'cause I really love this dog! We've had him since he was 6 months old and he's now three. I took this on the front porch in ambient light with a flash attachment using white poster board behind him. White dog (with spots) on white isn't easy to photograph. He doesn't like looking at the camera, either. He's cuter than this. He's giving me that look that says, "Okay, I'll sit here because you told me to, but I'm not happy about it".
Thanks for all the votes and wonderful comments during the challenge and especially for the "3" favorites. Very much appreciated!
It is so wonderful that he's now been picked by 17! as a favorite. Thank you so much. :D

Great portrait of your dog and met the challenge very well. I would have rated this photo high if I would have voted. Also, its nice to hear you adopted him. My wife and I adopted our cat about 6 months ago and may be adopting a dog very shortly. Again. Nice job on the photo.

Those strays make the best pets! I have a complete mongrel of a dog and it's probably the most affectionate, loyal and perpetually grateful pooch I could ever hope to have. Excellent animal portrait and congratulations on your top 10!

Not normally a fan of pet photos, but this is probably the best I have seen.

Simply stunning. I don't want a dog, but how much do you want for Him?

Excellent photo for the challenge, nice sharpness. I think it might even be better with a more interesting composition, or else have the face perfectly centered.

Nice capture of a real beauty. I had to go and pet my German Wirehair right after looking at this. Anybody who doesn't want to scratch behind this poochie's ears has no feelings.

Pretty dog. Doesn't look thrilled to be in the picture, though :) In the bottom left the dog blends into the background, but all in all you did a good job of maintaining the outline of the dog against the similarly-colored background.
