 After a super week of skiing at Mad River an 8th place finish was the icing on the cake! Thanks everyone! It has been a terrific winter at Mad River - powder skiing in New England?! It is a very special place - a skier-owned area, not much changed since 1949, old-fashioned and funky - and VERY challenging - the tagline is "Mad River Glen Ski it if You Can!"

This is a really neat shot and makes me wish I was there. I really like the designs in the snow, that was the first thing that caught my eye when looking through the tumbnails.

Ahh, this photo is so achingly beautiful. It has a grace and rhythm about it that is so appealing to me! The snow and trees mimic the beautiful curves of each other, while the sunlight atop the trees is truly the icing on the cake!!
I guess you can tell...I love everything about this wonderful photo!

I would have liked this photo even more if the ground had been without all of the criss crossing tracks. However, I suppose the tracks also add to the shadow and texture of the photo.

Beautiful, but it doesn't match the theme for me, wich mentions color. 10 as a photograph, but 5 for the theme, sorry.

everyone seems to be very picky about having low contrast and an all white background on this challenge but I love this photo and the texture to the snow. the pattern flows out of the trees and into the camera like white lava.

I like the patterns, and I'm a pushover for snow in trees. I just wish there was some more light on the tree tops. Not much you could do though.

I wish our ski resorts around here looked like that! This has been the worst ski season I've seen.
