This was my second concept. The first outake ate up all my time.

Used my double two halves double exposure box (see "Split Bout") and sat on piano and camera set for 15 seconds. Fired lights and then, in darkness, I removed myself from piano and closed the open lid and opened the closed lid and fired lights.

This is really a masterpiece, and although I think it should have scored higher, top ten isn't bad. Congratulations!

Dan -- You never cease to amaze me! Well deserved place in the top 10 all though I was guessing a top 5 finish for this shot.

hey funkmaster, you almost pulled off another ribbon, it's ok though this photo makes quite a statement, its surreal and the way you did it is masterful. Great job on a top 10 finish.

This is more than just a signature for you. Quite a bit of creativity and effort went into the set up for this shot as well. A well deserved top 10 finish.

This might as well have been a self-portrait- it's so YOU, and so appropriate for the challenge. Well done! (and you were worried about not making the top 10). ;-)

Wonderful set-up, very period appropriate with the props, slight distraction in the base of the piano-8

If this isn't you Dan than its a very good imitation. Great imagination and creative surrealistic old time feeling. Sort of like watching Around the World in 80 Days when they find the jewels in the cave. Great job. 10

GF, king of the double exposure! Another clever shot of your better half. The suspenders and hat are a nice touch, and I like that you've split the figure in a natural spot on the piano. The reflections are a minor distraction, but this imaginative image should still fall within the top 5. Well done!

This is quite interesting. I like the way you played with the mirror effect! Very nicely done, unfortunatly we do see the mirror which doesn't give much credibility to the shot. Colours could've been a little richer, and slightly tighter crop would've saved your shot i think. The picture is also not leveled. But this is definatly touching the Surreal. 7

Nice shot, I presume this is done using a double exposure. Good us of props, would love to see a B&W version.

Extremely nice use two flashes in partial scenes. Or perhaps the used technique was something else. Nevertheless the result works. I like the finishing touches like the beer and costum but can't say like all the object on top of the instrument. Btw. reflection on the bottom right hand side of the piano add up in surreal feeling.
