Outside the fact the clouds are a little on the soft side I doubt Adams could have done much better. Great scene, especially the boat turning in the foreground.

i had a VERY strong feeling that this was yours, but thought it would be a random guess and could've been one of the other sydney DPCers. congrats on your 14th place finish!

Doesn't feel quite contrasty enough to me but still a very lovely picture.

I like the feeling of depth created here, although the sky looks a little too bright in comparison with the rest of the frame.

The best urban shot. The sky is incredible. The moving boat is a great feature to what would have been too static of a shot. Nice job.

The line the moving boat draws across the harbour or river (?) is what makes the image work fore me. The contrast is interesting, but a bit too balanced, too averaged out to make it AA quality.

too contrasty I think, I like the depth of field, the clouds look a little soft

Ahh, a refreshing cityscape. I like this alot. A wide tonal range from the clouds to the watercraft. I like how you captured the wake of the boat, it really adds to the depth. Much detail to take in. IMO you've captured a good representation of AA's techniques and ranges. You've met the challenge well in that the purpose was to emulate AA not neccesarily try to duplicate it, othewise you may have journeyed out to Ayers Rock. Good luck with this well composed compositon that gets high marks from me (despite my submitting a landscape, lol).

Excellent tonality! Great shot with good dof. Horizon seems a bit off to me, leans to the right. 8

Something about this just seems synthetic and unreal - too much blurry/dodging in the clouds?

Excellent shot... the wake of the boat leads the eye into the cityscape.

Very Good. I think I might have cropped to just below the moving boat. This would cause the wake to draw the view further into the picture.

I didn't know that Sydney could look so good in b/w. You have captured the Adams feel in a cityscape, not an easy task and you have done it very well .
I'm sure some will vote it down as it is not a traditional Adams landscape but think it is superb. (10)

In many ways I love this picture. The boat's wake is starlingly effective. My 2 main beegs are that it is leaning over to the right, needs ccw rotation, and that the sky has been softened where it wants to be crystal sharp. A strong entry.

A shame about the clouds..outstanding picture until it gets to the sky and they seem completly out of focus. Sorry, but major hit on the clouds. Otherwise an outstanding photo.
