Hey dude, have you tried to use the pillowcase as a large diffuser?

Try this:

Get a big clear bag (suitable for the size of the pillowcase), inflate with air and tie off.

Place it inside the pillowcase with the tie on the side so the light can enter unobstruted, but the light that exits forwards also doesn't get affected..

This should make the light source even larger and softer.

and weaker of course :)

good creativity!

This photo is most definatly surreal. Totally crazy! I wonder about the color version, but the black and white is awesome as well.

Wow...thanks for all the positive comments! I really didn't expect to place in the top 20--my highest ever! It was way cool to have people reference Dali, who is probably my favorite surrealist.
I'm glad my wife suggested I incorporate part of her painting as a background. I wish I had brightened the image some, though.

This is probably the most "artsy" photo of the group. I don't have many synapses on that side of my brain, so I'm not a good judge for this photo. However, I do like the setup, and I think that you meet the challenge very well. good luck.

A fine example of surrealism, presumably just before the cow jumped over the loon. I'd love to see this in vivid color. Now seek help. 8

How this is Surrealism! Great composition and style. I would've wished for some better lighting on the model and cow, which would've made for some even better surrealism. Nice job. 8

Wow, you've really nailed surrealism in the traditional sense. Not necessarily my favourite image here, but you could almost throw this in one of the painting style PS filters and pass this off as a Dali.

Great job.

Very good idea. Definitely says surrealism to me. I like the composition. It seems kind of dark though, losing a lot of detail that would make it "pop" more IMO. B/w could still work, maybe raising brightness and/or contrast would help?
