This flower was in a bouquet on our dining room table when light from the window hit it and illuminated it.

Mostly as it came from the camera except for cloning out a couple of distracting spots of light and one orchid flower that took the eye away from the protea.

Excellent DOF on the subject. Good use of color. Composition and POV are well done. 8

Nice background, and the flower in the back adds up. However, I think the image could've had some more contrast and some work to make the flashy colors more interesting.

Very good viewpoint and DOF. Lighting really helps make this special.

Those are definitely some lines, just wish the plant on the right wasn't there, it competes with your subject for attention.

The immediate reaction is that this could do without the stem to the right, and the lower part of its own stem, but then you'd be moving into stock photography world, and we'd all be crying out for different lighting. After some consideration of this, I think that to really emphasise the lines more contrast is needed - their translucency doesn't help with a sense of texture, a sense of really being able to touch the thing.

I love the subject , the lighting, the focus, depth of field. I find the flower stalk on the right mighty distracting.
