Like the title says, it's Pepper the parrot, Quaker parrot that is. I put pepper on some little perch thing on my bedroom floor, busted out the Sigma 500 Super flash with my pocketwizard knock offs from ebay, stuck on my home made softbox (made of cardboard, duct tape, napkins, and TLC), and shot away. Soft box was to the birds upper left. The flash was set at 1/16 power so it would recharge really quickly and so Pepper wouldnt get pissed off that some light was blinding him. I used my 18-55 kit lens for this set at f/9.

Great light, focus, comp and subject. Subdued colour insinuates a rather melancholy bird? Like it a lot.
