I'm not sure about the compostiton of this one but anyway this was the nicest sunset in Africa last month.

The colors were just as they appear on that photo.

PS work not much: clone, levels and burn just a little bit of all.

Wow - this is gorgeous... Love the warm tones in contrast to the stark silhouette. Very nice work.

Thankyou for all comments and voting, takk fyrir!

I do more or less agree with you who say this picture shows a beautiful sunset as it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

But since I was there with a group of people and some dangerous animals not so far away, I could not have the composition as I perhaps wanted to. So I more or less agree with all of you and thanks, it scored much higher than I exepected when I submitted it.

Lovely, seductive and almost eerie but how it awakens the senses. Congratulations on your 5th finish.

This is just how I imagine it would be a sunset in Africa, those colours we have seen on the movies so often ... can't wait to be there for real :)) Congrats for a wonderful picture :))

Gorgeous Sunset!
Congrats on your top 5 finish here.
This needs music to accompany it for the full effect!

Everything is beautiful, I'm just not sure about the composition. - Returning for comments: Looking beyond the composition, wich actually looks better now... I guess it just the horizon line breaks the tree silhouette. But I'm being very critical because it does deserve the attention. This could very well get a ribbon. Colors a awsome, I also like how the clouds are very soft. Good luck!

Great shot, the exposure is timed just right. I love the orange tones, but I don;t think the border works for this shot 8

Very nice sunset...love the strong red color and the solitary tree...I don't like the fact that the 2 focus points are all to the bottom left corner....maybe a different crop would have worked better??...good luck ;)

I am a sucker for these kind of sunset shots and I like this but IMHO you could have composed it better (at least to my special taste anyway) by moving to the left and placing the tree in the right side of the frame and the sun exactly where it is. I Still a very good shot so don´t get me wrong and hope I didn´t offend you. (8)

If you could have moved to either separate the sun from the tree, or perhaps frame the sun in the tree's crotch is would help.

Rule of 3rds above and below. The infringement of tree upon sun is distracting to my eye. Great colors.

Very nice. I think the composition could be a little stronger if the tree was more off-center. 9

beautiful work. i'm not questioning your decision to enter this one, but i am curious as to whether or not you were able to try other perspectives, such as getting the sun through the tree. this looks like a great place to shoot. you sure captured a moment here. good luck!
