Oh I love this. How did I miss it??? It is spectacular with the spirals of wood drawing you down. Would be awesome for the current challenge! The lighting and sepia is great for this application.

This was my favorite shot in this challenge. I didn't comment on it during the challenge though. This was a very rare breath of fresh air for me in an otherwise very painful challenge to vote.

I love the lighting in this shot-the shadows really add to the tension the angles create. Great shot.

The title is very fitting and appropriate. It really looks abandoned. You've captured the essence here with these starirs. B&W works here excellently. Composition is good yet unpleasant for those with vertigo ;)) The light hot spots aren't bothering me, they are even contributing IMO.

A most creative study with a wonderful view. Good sepia to accentuate the old feeling. 7

I really love the idea and the effect of the staircase going down. Not too sure abou the blown out sections at the bottom left and left middle of the shot, but overall the shot works well and fits the title very nicely. The only other noteable "Flaw" would be the brick at the top right corner. Would be interesting if you could find a staircase that went to, well at least looked like it went to infinity.

I like the picture, except fot the bright light just left of center, tends to pull my eye from the focal point of the picture.

Monochrome doing what it does best. It's all about shape and form. A very enjoyable image.

A shame to let a house that big become abandoned. The detail is good in the stairs. The sun on the left is distracting. It kind of breaks up the theme of the steps.

Hmm, after voting on all entries a lot of stairway photos come out on top. This one gets one point extra for the perspective and crop (crop in the viewfinder, in photoshop, I don't care) and therefore comes out on top of all. So, favorite for this challenge. Good luck. :)

Great idea! It does look like his paintings...it's angular and seems to go nowhere; I like the framing of the shot and the tone of this image..8

This photo is just great. The photo whould maybe be better íf you had taken it from the handrail of your left. than you would not have the light in left corner.
I give you 8

Wow! This is very cool! It's different and stands out -- even with 498 entries. Really excellent job!!! Good luck, although, I don't think you will need it, this one will do great without "luck" Your talent and capture have compensated for luck :)

Very cool picture! Love the perspctive...and this really benefits from being B&W. The tonality, the light and shadow, the cropping, the texture...I could go on and on, a truely lovely picutre.

I love this shot. The tonal range could be smoothed out, there's some total highlight blowout here that distracts and the darkest areas are a tad blocked up as well, but a cery stron entry in my eyes nonetheless.
