How come there's 300D noted as a camera you used? It was in March 2003, nobody dreamed about 300D that time :)

strange

btw cool photo, good job

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I concur with all of the compliments below! Including my own!

This is a superb shot with a difficult subject, but here is why I think it works so well:

It is simple, and you suggest a lot. The way the numbers vanish indicate the infinitity of pi, and your use of B/W is appropriate and adds interest. Your point of view, with the numbers tilting off, enhance the interest as well. The cleanliness of line and contrast of B/W create a suggestion of mystery as well, taking our thoughts beyond the photo and into the realms of mathematics and their incomprehensibleness, yet seeming simplicity. Again, the simplicity of the image is both appropriate and ironic.

What can I say? This is a marvelous shot. Star sending it to math textbook companies!

Thanks,

David

Very cool! Congratulations on 3rd! I love how this trails off, and looks like a traditional print out - reminds me of an old computer print out from a couple of decades ago! I didnt vote on Pi, but this would have been a high one.

I think your graphic representation of the actual number of Psi which goes on for infinity is an acurate depiction of what it actually is. I love the floatiness of the numbers coming from the inner resesses of the human brain, naturally existing prior to man's discovery of it, only hinted of it's existance by shapes seen by the eye.

Aren't you carrying accuracy too far? to infintity. Great treatment.

Really like the way it fades away to infinity. The angle you shot at is right on. Good job.

Simple and effective, you communicate both the complexity of pi, and the simple fact that it's just a buncha numbers. Engages and intrigues me, but doesn't do much for me emotionally (can any pi shot?). I hope this does well. 9

Nice entry for the Pi challenge. It's different, nice and clean black and white photgraphy, numbers to the infinity. . . did you know it would take a man (or woman) 300 years to speak those numbers non stop without taking time to breath, sleep, drink or to blink their eyes? Now wouldn't that be a Challenge?
Nice framing for your photograph.
