Oh I love this one in comparison to the one in color. This is outstanding.

I think that this may have been stronger if the model had been looking down rather than at the camera.

Sadness is a good name for this photo. Her eyes seem sad to me. Good focus.

The lighting for this shot is excellent. And what a lovely model! However, I think I would like it better if the veil covered either BOTH of the eyes, or just ONE of the eyes. She has such beautiful eyes to begin with...I find it sad to not show them off. But you're going for veiled sadness, so that's cool...the only thing that distracts me is the small portion of the right eye which is not behind the veil.

Excellent. Love the hidding effect of the scarf, in that "mourning" way. The B&W tones are amazing.

For some reason this is very effective to me. Great work

The print on the scarf is a little confusing = distracting.
Nice tones and expression.

The veil adds to this image, nice lighting, perhaps you are missing a bit of the whites.

I love the lighting in this and the focus of the veil and softness of the exposed face beyond the veil. 10

trying to decide if i'd like to see 3/4 inch less veil ... guess this makes this photo interesting and a success

She does look sad. Not sure about the veil.. it takes away from the emotion in the eyes for me.

This is an amazing depiction of sadness. It's a very haunting picture -- it just draws you to keep looking at it. I really like it a lot.

Interesting shot, I wish the veil didn't cut the eye on the right in half.

A sad, haunting look captured very nicely. The eyes really make the shot for me.

Exquisite. The veil really adds metaphorically to the image. 9

The first thing that hit me here is the patterning on the scarf, and I think it's a distraction factor. I also feel there's too much of the face obscured by the veil, and that a half split, showing more of one eye (clearly) would be very effective. I do like the overall effort, though and am rating a 6, and I feel this could be higher very easily.

This is clearly one of my favorite images of the challenge. I love the detail and texture in the vail. There appears to be detail in the eyes behind the vail as well. I'm slightly distracted by the print on the detail which covers her right cheek. But the overall image is one I enjoy viewing. <7>

This is a powerful image. Personally my preference would have been to use more color as apposed to B&W. Well done

There's something about this one I cannot explain, but I can't stop staring at her eyes. Very powerful. Excellent.

From an artistic point of view I like this, kind of wish the veil was a little further left though. Showing just a little more of the eye, and the pattern on the veil is distracting.
