Much to like here, but the unfortunately massive juxtaposition of the two rocks on right, foregro9und and background, is kludging the composition up for me.

Beautiful rich colors. It took me a minute to figure out the right side of the shot. The rock in the forground is a little distracting. My eyes keep getting drawn away from the great sunset and the rocks on the horizon.

There's a time to break the rule of thirds, but I think this photo would benefit from having the horizon a little higher in the frame. Even better - get lower to add more of that awsome foreground. The rippling water on the sand is much more interesting than this sky.

ah, here we go again, this beach.
Is that a rock in the foreground? It may have been better to have been standing on the rock to to take the photo.

It's a beautiful scene, but I feel I have seen this same beach so many times before that it is getting a little more difficult to be enthusiastic.
Nice colors, silhouettes and composition. 7

Took this on May 10th, eh? I shot the same sunset for this challenge at a different location. I like the water patterns and the placement of Haystack Rock. The rock in the foreground (which I do recognize ) is places in kindof an odd position, IMHO. It seems to blend to much with the Haystack, maybe a little higher position or a further back view would give it a little more clarity. Overall, I love the shot (what can I say? It is my favorite subject). I also that it will be funny when you get a bunch of "This is Zoomdak" and "That darn beach" comments.

Hello zoomdack. I can't help but wonder what the rocks look like from the other side. Would you please stand out in the water and shoot them for us. Maybe the camera will get wet so that a few of us can win a few of the ribbons : ) Once again great shot. For some reason I never get bored of looking as this great scene. Very strong lines on the silhouette. Nice colors in the sky and the water is absolutaly perfect. Wonderfull job.

Beautiful foreground framing. Nicely done. If I don't miss my guess this is Haystack Rock. That goes along with a similar image of the Peter Iredale I saw earlier. Both appear to have been taken on the same day and close to the same time since the sun position, clouds and sky color are very similar.

I probably would have chosen not to include the black rock in the foreground. At Zone 0, I feel like it is too much empty space and takes away some interest from the shot.

The black at the bottom seems too much in my opinion, is it another rock? A slightly different perspective would have been better I think. 7
