A beautiful morning at the Royal Stables in Hummar just outside Amman Jordan. I had permission to shoot a few photos of these magnificent animals as they got out of the stables for excercise. The Stables hold over 130 Arabians and are now well known in the world for an excellent breeding program. My favorite was a beautiful mare named Gogha (second from right), a blue with brown freckles, she even came up to me for a sniff and a cuddle, she belongs to HRH Princess Alia, oldest daughter of late King Hussein.

Beautiful shot and beautiful horses! Arabians, no?? I kind of wish there were only white horses, but extremely well done considering that horses never seem to want to work with you and a camera! :)

Thank you everyone for your comments and well wishes. It sure was exciting to win suddenly 2 ribbons in a row. Although always hoping, I never imagined getting this high scores so soon, it will be really hard to keep up the momentum. What happened to me and my winning shots just goes to show everyone that you need alot of stubborness and retake your shots often until you get it right. The beautiful horses in my photograph are simply beauty in it's most natural form, I happened to be there to witness this beauty. I've uploaded lots more in my portfolio under the title of Royal Stables in Amman, if anyone would like to see more.
Thanks again and all these wonderful comments mean so much to me, Gurry aka Xilebo.

Shows a lot of power in the running horses. The horses, imho, are not as "dramatic" as they could be and I feel that the shot would benefit from a bit more contrast to establish that "wow" factor. It's got the potential for that, I think.

appreciate that this depicts the sides & front end of the horse...... like the dust and stop action you have made on this one.

A tighter crop could make this much more powerfil...especially with the fron three heads. Try a vertical crop there. Also I think there could be a wb issue which is why the front horse is blue. Overall though a very beautiful shot. 8

Excellent stop motion capture. Good composition. Honestly, the wall detracts but I cannot fault you for that - we take our images where we find them. Detail, colors, crop excellent. 8. May bump later.

Here's an animal that is nearly always beautiful. The subject choice is fantastic. I love the fact that they are running, it really gives the eye many areas to look, plus a horse's body in motion is a beautiful thing as well.

The colors are a bit dulled, but that could be because of the light. If it was possible I'd suggest a capture that had the lead horse (which is wonderfully focused) in the sun so it was basking in the light so to speak, particularly because it is the lead horse - its a shame that it is shadowed. I like how the colors of the horses flow with that of their surroundings, the white matching the white-ish walls and the brown horse matching the ground. I think if the colors were a little richer (not sure if a polarizer was used or if that might help) the image would be even better.

Great focus, nice action, lovely subject and a good composition. Very nice. 6

It makes me stop and say "That's beautiful!", which is what the challenge is all about. Wonderful sense of flowing motion, really fine lighting. As an aside, it's VERY strange how the brown horse *appears* to have a white head :-) Should do very well int he challenge.
