Anvil from a severe thunderstorm north of downtown Oklahoma City. I stood on a pile of wood chips for about 30 min to get the lighting just right. It was a little scary as the lighting was very close.

This is pretty much how it looked that evening. Very slight crop, minor dodge & burn, cloned out power lines, slight desaturation, unsharp mask.

Is that what those clouds are called? Gotta brush up on my meteorology! At least it shows that weather folks have a sense of humor ...

Oh dear, this is a picture I really like, but I can't see how it fits the challenge, where is the frame?! Right I'll settle on 6

The sky in this shot is just amazing, really great. Can't quite give it a 10 though, because I think your interpretation of the challenge is a bit "liberal". Still a great shot though!

I love this picture, would give it a 9 but I can't make out how this fits the challenge. The subjects are the skyline and clouds, neither of which frame the other, IMO. There does not seem to be any other subject, and the only thing I see that could be construed as a frame is the border that's been added. I do love the texture in the clouds, and the color gives it a very moody, 'heavy', foreboding feel. Sigh. 7 for this one.

Awesome scene. Your capture of color in the clouds and the silhouetted cityscape creates a wonderfully impersonal mood with a sense of pent-up power. Very nice job.

Unfortunately this is the first photo I have seen without a frame or a frame which I cannot see. I do however think this is a very nice photo and feel that you should make the print available as it is that nice. Excellent colors, clarity and crispness in this photo but in my opinion does not meet the challenge. <4>

Very cool shot but is this really a fit for this challenge?

and how does this fit the theme? nice blacks, whites need work, a frame may not mean four corners, but this look like an 'underline' more than a 'frame', nice post, nice overall

A beautiful photo, to be sure.....but can't quite figure out the "framed" part. Still, a lovely shot.
