 This Bald Eagle, over 20 years old, was injured when it was quite young. "Mikisi" resides at the front entrance area of the Toronto Zoo. This beautiful raptor was blown out of it's nest when it was quite young and is unable to fly. It would not have survived on it's own,so many thanks to the Metro Zoo for their love and caring of "Mikisi". I originally shot this guy 2 weeks ago and decided to go back to the Zoo for this weeks challenge. The shot was hard to get as Mikisi was way back in his cage and would not come up front (despite my pleadings) where the lighting was better.

I like the results of my shoot...this one was my favorite

Very striking image. Very nicely detailed, well put together. Fills the frame nicely and the background does not compete with the subject. The background does has a weir horizontal line but I am sure you could not change it.

Very nice expression on the face/eyes/beak. I do find their to be some noise on the entire image. Nothing that hurt it because I personally do not mind it on the entire image. it does give the image a nostalgic look and feel to it.

Nice effort ("The shot was hard to get as Mikisi was way back in his cage and would not come up front (despite my pleadings) where the lighting was better") but I see this shot is out of focus.
The background is too dark also. I think you are getting high score because of the meaning of the picture instead of its quality.
Nice but you can do it much better cole, I've seen it.

The beak is great, but, the feathers unfortunately lost much detail...when you look close the white ones in particular almost look like fur instead of feathers. Too bad.

Very nice. He almost doesn't look real. Love the feathers. Wish the background were a solid color. He'd "pop " out more. Overall - very well done.

Nice shot, but the line of separation between colors in the background is a let down to the image. More contrast in general would have been more effective with me. 6
