TOP NOTCH PHOTO, LOVE IT
09/24/2003 05:38:04 PM
Fabulous photo...I like the posture of the boy, the effect of the water coming off the umbrella is wonderful....this photo has a very realistic quality to it....I can almost 'hear' the water as it pours down. Great job!
09/05/2003 04:26:58 PM
This is such a great photo. Although there may be many children playing, the background is perfectly neutral as none of them can be seen. The positions of the boy and umbrella are perfect and the weight of the water can be seen, almost felt! I also like very much the fact that the boy has his back to the camera. Very cool shot!
05/22/2003 07:35:37 PM
I would love to have this photo in my collection! Just wonderful!
04/05/2003 03:58:59 AM

06/01/2002 10:43:00 PM
This is awesome
06/01/2002 10:22:00 PM
Uh, I don't think that's a completely effective rain-avoidance technique!
06/01/2002 07:08:00 PM
Placed in my top three
06/01/2002 07:51:00 AM
Yours is a picture that one wants to look at again. I feel that is one of the most important qualities of a good picture.
05/31/2002 06:33:00 PM
This is a great photo. You can almost feel the heavy water pouring down.
05/31/2002 01:08:00 PM
Very nice shot
05/31/2002 09:43:00 AM
My comment may or may not be valid depending on if this is a rainstorm or a fountain. If it's a fountain, I wish I could see some of the bursts of water from the ground on the way up. That might not be possible though in terms of also getting it while it's crashing down on him.
05/30/2002 10:20:00 PM
Damn, that's a lot of rain!
05/30/2002 08:11:00 PM
I really like this photo a lot. I can feel the intense force of the rain. I hope this child was rewarded for this!
05/30/2002 04:03:00 PM
But it looks to be too late. I hope you didn't make him get soaked just to take a picture. Nice photograph.
05/30/2002 08:12:00 AM
What can I say. You know it's good..I know its good. 10.......One of my 4 10's this week.
05/30/2002 06:07:00 AM
Forcing a little boy into the rain with a bad umbrella, shame on you. ;) This is an excellent picture in my opinion. I love how the boy is tilted to the left sort of scrunched over fighting the weight of the rain and and the coldness of the water. 10.
05/29/2002 07:06:00 PM
I absolutely love this photo
05/29/2002 05:23:00 PM
This is cute. He looks like he is having the time of his life. The water looks great cascading over the umbrella.
05/29/2002 03:13:00 PM
Unlike a lot of the other entries this is not boring
05/29/2002 02:43:00 PM
Simplicity, Color, Action, and Child! A really nice photo! Makes we want to go out and play in the rain myself!
05/29/2002 12:53:00 AM
framed perfectly
05/28/2002 11:57:00 PM
My top Choice! It has it all, colour focus , and a good composition and subject matter!
05/29/2002 12:08:00 PM
beautiful! Tone, texture, lighting.
05/29/2002 11:58:00 AM
This is my vote for best photo of the week. I keep coming back and looking at this, its one of those photographs that stays with you long after you close the window.
05/28/2002 07:09:00 PM
the lighting is really good, as it shows the water coming off the umbrella in back.
05/28/2002 06:43:00 PM
I like it! Simple, uncluttered, well lit, soft, and wet. What could improve it? That's a tough one. Perhaps dressing the boy in a rain suit or something akin to "Singing in the Rain." Very well done!
05/28/2002 05:27:00 PM
in my very humble opinion, this is the best shot that i've seen on dpchallenge since its inception. perfect. you should be very proud of it. i'd love to see it in black and white just for kicks, but it's just fine in color. great job.
05/28/2002 05:07:00 PM
Way to capture the momoment!
05/28/2002 04:33:00 PM
Wow, I like this one. Doesn't look like the umbrella was much help. I don't see anything I could suggest to improve this shot. Well done! Keep up the good work!
Photo 10 Creativity 9 People 9 total 9

I love this!
05/28/2002 01:04:00 PM
great capture! love this.
05/28/2002 01:00:00 PM
wonderful! good focus...lovely colors...interesting subject.
05/28/2002 12:39:00 PM
That's quite a bit of rain! I'd prefer to see the front of him instead of the back. That or give some hint that he would be walking away. Just standing doesn't do much for me. Otherwise you did a great job on the framing and chosen angle.
05/28/2002 12:36:00 PM
excellent!
05/28/2002 12:05:00 PM
Great shot! Well composed
05/28/2002 02:13:00 PM
This is a most excellent photograph... I LOVE IT! Is this in a fountain or is it actual rain> The water patterns on teh pavement seem like they are quite uneven... either way, you get a 10 this week for creativity and composition... Kudos!
05/28/2002 01:56:00 PM
Absolutely adorable! How long did you make the poor kid stand out in that downpour though? Beautiful photograph!
05/28/2002 01:18:00 PM
This is a great photo!!! That poor child..lol
One of my 10's :)
05/28/2002 11:12:00 AM

lol. great capture. Wouldn't change a thing
05/28/2002 09:05:00 AM
very nice captu5re
05/28/2002 08:58:00 AM
Awesome shot. You need to enter this into the rain competition on www.photoblink.com if you haven't already! Other than the strap of the umbrella (and even that is very nitpicky, and could be cloned out outside of dpchallenge), I have no suggestions for improvements.
05/28/2002 08:56:00 AM
great image, fun picture.
05/28/2002 08:04:00 AM
I generally not a fan of photos showing the backs of people, but this works well. Beautifully done. To be very picky (and this hasn't affected my score), the ground betwen yourself and the boy seems quite dry in contrast to the rest ... I understand that you were protecting your camera, but if the boy did decided to keep going into the downpour, it would have been an even more powerful if you could have eliminated the dry ground. Congrats on a great photo :)
05/28/2002 02:52:00 AM
I love this photograph! How did you keep your lense dry?? I would not change a thing. A perfect 10 in my book.
05/27/2002 10:29:00 PM
Great photo!!
05/27/2002 08:45:00 PM
I LOVE this shot! Great capture of the hard rain and the feeling of the photo.
05/27/2002 08:26:00 PM
This picture goes very well with the topic.
05/27/2002 06:47:00 PM

Great shot...fantastic light!! Wonderful work.
05/27/2002 02:27:00 PM
Great shot.
05/27/2002 02:14:00 PM
Absolutely, hands down, the best photo of all. Quite honestly, It's one of the best photos I've seen since i joined this sight.
05/27/2002 02:11:00 PM
Torrential! Are those shoes dry yet?
05/27/2002 02:09:00 PM
Hopefully your camera had better protection from the rain than this guy did, nice shot ADDED: My only 10 so far, great job.
05/27/2002 12:17:00 PM
Great Pix.
05/27/2002 09:07:00 AM
Good feeling of the weight of the water.
05/27/2002 04:09:00 AM
Like the rain and the way the kid is caught unaware by the camera and the situation. Good shot.
05/27/2002 01:55:00 AM
Awesome shot! I almost wish I could see his expression.
05/27/2002 01:53:00 AM
Great photo... but is this indoors? I don't know why that should make me like it less, but the rain just seems too heavy to be real, and it would be much more interesting with some outdoor surroundings.
05/27/2002 01:27:00 AM
I LOVE this photo ! Maybe a little levels put on it to brighten the color but that doesn't take away a point with me:) GREAT photo !
05/27/2002 01:26:00 AM
I Like it. Enough said.
05/27/2002 12:25:00 AM
Beautifully shor
