Hi,
I have almost the same set up 30D + 100mm f/2.8 + 430ex speedlight.
How do you get this magnification of the subject? At 1:1 manual focussing I am not able to see so clearly. Am I missing a point in this whole Macro thing...feeling retarded...

I didn't get a chance to vote on the macro challenge, but I would have given this a 10. Great detail, color, DOF and composition. I absolutely love it; and it inspires me to keep on plugging along.

I hate flies. Your technique, however, is "fly"less (flawless).

the colors are beautiful. I love the detail on the face - even the area between the eys where this fly looks to have been sutured together - lol
Great shot 10

9 - What can you say, this is just about perfect. Maybe angle, maybe crop could be better (for me), maybe those front 'feet' would be better in focus too. The little, antennae, if they were in focus, I don't know. It is pretty close to perfect. Colors are rich, that 'nose'?/mouth, very well captured. Yes.

You must have an unbelievable zoom. I can't believe the texture in those red eyes and the "lacing" effect between them! The coloration is very well done.
