This snake's got plenty to eat in the stack above him: bugs for dinner, berries for desert, and water droplets to slake his thirst. Set him loose and he'll work ya right up to the blue ribbon, LOL. Good job!

oooh...freaky...i love it! great focus and DOF. i think this would look super on a darker background, too.

Nice details - good use of DOF to highlight certain details. I think a darker background would work better. The head is nicely framed, well composed. 7

Perfect focus, great DOF isolating an individual feature on an already small subject - fantastic work.

This is a fantastic shot, textures of the skin, the detail on the eye, the expression are all awesome. A small gripe about the BG, I think it would be even more striking on black, red or orange, the neutral gray definitely does not hurt though.

Nice to see a different sort of macro - refreshing. Good luck for the challenge! One of my few 10s

a Tokay, no? excellent detail and DOF. perhaps a little more contrasted backdrop (darker OR lighter) might make this guy pop a little more. I'm looking forward to seeing what lens/camera you used for this. the rich tones and sharp contrast are brilliant.

Thats fanstastic detail, and a unique subject, overall a great macro, but I find your border distracting,

Ooooo, that is a sweeeet looking eye. This up close and personal view really does give the subject an alien like appearance. Great sharp focus and DOF.

Good detail and lighting! I wonder if a different color for the background might make this shot pop out just a little bit more. Good composition.

The sharpness of the head is wonderful! The part of the body that's behind the head makes it a little unlcear about where the head ends and what's going on there, but even so, this is a spectacular photo. 9

9 - This is excellent. Color is excellent. Perhaps the only things (for me) would be more detail/focus on the eye pattern, no shine around the end of the 'snout', *possibly* a different color background, don't know. This is so close to perfect, an excellent shot.

The pink of the nostril makes a great contrast. This is really well executed. The texture of his skin is showcased perfectly. 9

Oh my. . .that certainly is close and personal to every little detail, isn't it? That is amazing!!!! It is the ugliest of creatures, but a perfect, beautiful macro shot. 10

great eye and skin detail. I would have liked to see deeper depth of field here to get the whole head in focus.
