effective sky shot

nice, i'm liking the way the sun filters through the clouds :)
06/09/2002 01:25:00 PM
Perhaps just a touch off the bottom!
06/09/2002 01:14:00 PM
The clouds are very dramatic yet the land shot is lost in obscurity, WOuld that be underexposed a little?

I love the contrast between the ground and the sky, but I wish it were emphasized a little more -- i.e. have more of that dark, anchoring ground at the bottom.

Glæsibær ;)

Good sky shot. I think it might have been better if there was a little detail in the land.

dramatic

Going back and raising my vote on this one. The more times I look at it the more I like it. The sun trying to come thru the clouds is very nice.

sweet looking picture.

Very Nice. The detail is superb.

Good range of tones.

More zoom to capitalize on the great rays of sunlight a little better would improve the image. Cropping out the right side just where the trees begin makes a very strong vertical composition that follows the light from the bright cloud down through the dark, where it breaks through to the ground.

Black and white and all shades in between

WOW striking! Great catch of the rays. I like this alot. I wish only that the clouds had a touch more definition. A winner. good job.

Wow, I never thought the sky could be so interesting in black and white. Nice, strong image.

clouds clouds and more clouds.....

I think it is to dark and monotonous to catch the eye
06/04/2002 03:19:00 AM
Great sky, but I wish there was some element that pulled the picture together and gave it a focus. A silhouette of something in there would have helped. I still rate it high though.

I shoot a lot of photos in this vein -- nice job! I like you caught those sunbeams in the left-center, and there's a lot of nice texture in the dark clouds (especially considering he limitations of DPC!).

I like the way you have captured the sun rays falling throught he clouds in this shot... good work!
06/03/2002 10:49:00 PM
I love the rays peaking through the clouds. Great photo.
06/03/2002 07:57:00 PM

superb mood shot

Those rays of light are great
06/03/2002 12:09:00 PM
The sun shine and the glowing clouds are great -- the round and patch of tall bushes?trees? on the right is a nice touch.
06/03/2002 11:30:00 AM
Really like the rays of sunshine in this one. Almost makes the title not quite right.
06/03/2002 11:13:00 AM
If this had a flat or more interesting horizon it'd get a 10. The "lump" on the right causes just enough distraction to take the edge off for me. Seems to make the image just a little too right heavy. NIce tonal range in the clouds, ski and light "rays". This is also a good example to illustrate that the horizon does not have to be at a third.
06/03/2002 11:07:00 AM
I like it when the sun rays shine through the clouds that way. Having said that, I think that works better in color. There's not enough here to hold my interest, unfortunately.

I can smell a rainstorm is coming..............
