That's one of the reasons I decided not to vote at all on this challenge.

Nevertheless, congrats with the blue ribbon.

I do share the same opinion! It's an outstanding image. But it doesn't scream independence to me. This might work for the north-american (I'm also american) fellows, but not quite that much for the rest of the world! I know it's the american symbol for it, but what about the rest of us "non-north american" ppl?
Still a great show, and a great example of what the Sigma 105mm can do! That lens is deffinatelly on my list....

I thought my picture had a shot at winning the blue until I saw this picture. I knew it was the winner the very second I saw it. Well deserved.

Always a rush to win blue!! :-D

Thx for all your comments! Omega Parc is awesome and they have a bird show 3 times a day with various raptors. At the end of the show, you can get up close and personnal, so I took out my Sigma 105mm. I got some really cool head shots.

:-)

I find Eagle pictures to be very amazing and this one is no exception. Great picture! One of my favorites! I wonder how you can get such a great picture. Out here in Southwest Kansas, I only get to see them in zoos with very tight fences.

This is a medal waiting to happen. I hope your scores reflect my own personal enthusiasm for this shot. It may depend on the number of American vs. non-American voters. Good luck. I have you pegged for 2nd place. 9.

Wonderful macro shot of the eagle..I like the open beak and the ferocity of eyes..the harsh sunlight is good in this portrait..dof is also well done, keeping focus on eagle.

This is fantastic! What a beautiful shot! If it weren't for the little trail of birdy spit, I would swear this was a model! :-) Nice job! I 'aspire' to be this good. I still haven't the nerve to post any pics of my own, but eventually. :-)

This was an advanced editing challenge? I wonder whether this eagle might not prefer to be depicted without the strands of slobber? Otherwise, a compelling shot.

Woa!!!!! I took some eagle shots as an idea for this challenge, but I'm glad I didn't submit any of them. All of them would have certainly paled next to this one! This is SO sharp and vibrant! The detail you can see in the feathers is just amazing! You did great. This is awesome!!!
