 Shoot at Berlgas island, Portugal. There are literaly tousands of seagulls at only a few feets od distance, so any 70-300 like the one I own looks like a macro lens. They where in breathig season (at least I think so because of all the nests with litle ones). The litle ones seeked refuge under theire mothers because the sun was very hot and there where almoust no native vegetation (it's almoust a naked rock in the middle of the ocean) to give shelter. It was shoot hand held at f7 1/200 at 240mm of focal lengh. Just cropped, levels to correct the exposure (it was a bit overexposed because I forgot and let it in spot meter), boost a bit the saturation on the yellows (to enhance the legs of the adult) and the reds, and a bit the master. Resized (bicubic sharper) and saved for web. Hope people enjoy seeing it has I enjoyed taking it.

Great DOF on the adult, but it seems to suffer on the chick. Also the lighting is too bright IMHO, causing a significant loss of detail. (Probably mid-day sun, which is the most unforgiving.) Cute shot nonetheless.

Since I am lacking in technical skills, I cannot give helpful comments. I am strictly a photo buff who is trying to improve, but as to telling you what is wrong or right, I am in no position to say. I am simply voting based on whether I like the picture or not. Sorry, maybe someday I will be able to give helpful advice
