I like this image. Some of you might say - where's the wood? Well, the bridge is wood and the railing supports are wood and its in the woods so I got lots a wood! I'm hoping I don't get dinged for out of focus - I made it that way on purpose. Anyway, all comments appreciated!

I try to incorporate what I learn from previous challenges. This one used Leading Lines and Texture as part of the composition.

Lots of editing.
Levels
Sharpen, sharpen, sharpen again. I did oversharpen on purpose to bring out some of the detail/contrast on the wood - I knew that later I was going to use a blur layer.
Blur layer - selectively on most everything except the wooden floor of the bridge. More blur on everything.
Levels again - wanted to put back in some contrast lost when I blurred.
Tritone - I was looking for wood type colors and hope I found the best ones.

Thanks for looking!

the leading columns of black bridge railing make the shot, IMO, they add a real darkness.

Incredibly unique and beautiful! I love this! The composition is wonderful and your creative use of focus splendid. The sepia tones are delicious! :)

I love the way the woman blends into the background and the only way to really be sure she is there is her hat!

There is something so appealing and evocative about his image. The angle is quirky but shows off the wood texure well. I want to know more about the woman;)

I like this but I have a feeling I would have loved this if the focus had been the other way around, I mean the focus on the woman and the bridge (or whatever the foreground is) out of focus. Nice work.

nice work, but the vague nature of the background bothers me a bit

What a lovely mood this image has...one of my top picks...it's the hat...I love that hat...really nicely done.

Nice use of sepia. Very "days gone by" type feeling. I like the leading line aspect of it as well.

Beaufiful image! I love the detail in the wood in the foreground, and the short depth of field. Perfect model & clothing for this shot. Well done.

This is such a bizarre photo. The person walking away from the viewer is nearly invisible except for the hat. I really had to look to realize the person was really there. I think it must be the pattern on her blouse that gives the illusion of translucency. I'm sure that wasn't the intent. Anyway, nice photo, it makes you think.

I love to see this kind of work here at DPC. Unfortunately, this type of artistic expression is so often overlooked by so many artists/voters here. This belongs in a gallery where it can be seen surrounded by other fine works of art. I have no suggestions to improve on this one. This is work at a level I aspire to reach with my more serious photography. Unbelievable work! 10
