Another in my series of banal objects rendered literally. Probably won't do any better than the rest of them, but I like doing this, it's a good exercise in seeing, if unspectacular...

Bamboo Steamers, macro lens, north skylight.

Color image was essentially monochromatic, so I just toned down the chroma here, which has produced a more-or-less sepia effect, although it's still an RGB image.

Considerable cropping (too late to set the shot back up and it was till 2500 pixels wide LOL, gotta love 8.2 Mp cameras).

Converted from RAW to TIFF: contrast, sharpness, and intensity adjusted in RAW. No levels were killed to make this image.

Very minor cloning on some way tiny marks that were dark enough to distract a little.

Toning effect achieved through hue/sat and a kiss of selective color in the white range.

Feivel's General Interest Gothic Glow applied and faded to bring in a hint of soft luminosity.

A touch of USM after resizing, then borders and save for web.

If this was in color I'd probably be grumbling about too much white glare, however it works to your advantage in this shot. Would have liked to have seen the weave a bit sharpe. Other than that its a well done image. Congrats.
*me thinks many will pass it by due to subject matter.

The shapes in the composition are plenty and it's a nice image. Soft looking and clean. Good luck.9

Interesting subject. Actually, I would like to see a bit more of them. I am not sure I like the color, though. Maybe a bit more yellow???

Great macro and I love the coloration. This has enough, even being monochromatic, to interest the eye because of all of the different directions the bamboo is woven. I like this very much in its simplicity.

Excellent Work! Great color tones and detail. My only suggestion would be to drop the white border. The picture is perfect in every way. 10

Nice photo. Lighting was excellent, and so was the composition. Good job on the color output also.
