thanks a lot for all your comments, it was so much fun shooting minnie - this is my favorite picture of the year so far... to answer some of your questions: i did this on the table which i draped with towels and moved to the very edge of the pool... i did try the glasses on her, but they were just too big... i didn't know how she will behave in the chair, so i was totally surprised when she just sat there, smelling the flowers from time to time, that's all... i did take several pictures, but mostly to make sure that all of the props are in the picture... as to the comments that she doesn't look happy i might kid you back that "money does not buy happiness", but i won't... minnie is generally a very happy dawg and a very good sport, she likes to stay by my side at all times except when playing with her best friend, 95 pound shepherd mix basia... i do agree that here she does look a little on a melancholic side but i think that her looking like that goes along with the whole ambience of relaxation I was trying to convey... the outtakes are here: "//share.shutterfly.com/share/received/welcome.sfly?fid=7bd04e61f52a41833315f89dbf2f35f7&sid=9MYtGjZk1gw"

| Just based on humor alone, this would be one of my top tens for this challenge. But I also like the bright tone of the composition as well as the attention to details you have given to your effort. And the dog? Well, when it gets back from the Republican fundraiser, give my regards. |

Very funny. I guess you tried the sunglasses but they did not quite work out? In any case, it's always fun to relax by the pool with one's friends. The pink theme works nicely I find the background - though carefully obscured by close cropping and good control of DOF - to be a little distracting. And I find the wealth of objects to be a little overwhelming.
I think the biggest problem with the photo is that the dog seems to be having much less fun than the photographer. In fact he looks both a little irked by the effort and peeved by the fact that there is not much he can do to get out of it. Or maybe he is just dreaming pensively of that French poodle he met at some other pool party long ago. |

| The dog does not look happy to be surrounded by this garish display but in a dogs world this is probably showing affluence. |

Great photo! I love so many things about it: the plastic fishes, the pink flamingo, the pink wicker chair, the chihuahua's outfit... It's all in harmony with the idea of the super-rich who pamper their pets extravagantly.
My only major complaint would be about the path & fence in the background. Maybe angling the photo more to the pool would have worked better... |

| not only cute and fun but also done well -- the swimming pool colors make a nice backround to all the bright pinks etc.... If you could have done something to eliminate that distracting upperleft corner (i know - easier said than done) this would have been great. Good job overall |
