Even after all these years, this is still one of my very favorite shots. I look at it fairly often, and it ALWAYS makes me smile. Thanks!

Sorry for the late response, but thanks mag (and all other commentators as well). It looks pretty cool printed on A4 size too. I framed it and it's hanging on my wall now :)
BTW there's more detail about how I made it on my homepage.

Remie, you should be proud of this pic. it's absolutely awesome.
06/10/2002 06:43:00 AM
Thanks Drew, I thought it would do better too, but I'm glad I did end up 5th in the top 5 by the users wihout camera and I'm pleased with the comments.

he/she looks vicious lol j/k great capture :)
06/09/2002 04:53:00 PM
weird. i mean freaky angle! I love this shot--the clarity is outstanding, the framing, lighting and composition is darn near perfect. if this was my pet photo it would definitely go on the wall!
06/09/2002 02:45:00 PM
Very cute...
06/09/2002 02:28:00 PM
Nice shot, interesting angle, but too much light.
06/09/2002 01:33:00 PM
I would have liked to have seen more detail in the fur. The unusual angle gets my vote.
06/08/2002 11:05:00 PM
Attack of the giant Chihuahua! ;-) Very nice detail - how did you get the dog to pose?
06/08/2002 09:37:00 PM
Excellent!
06/08/2002 08:50:00 PM
This is one of my favorites this week, though his forhead is a bit blown out on my monitor I like how you cropped and rotated it. Makes me smile just looking at it. Good job! :)
06/08/2002 02:50:00 PM
I just hate it when people send picture of their pets. But this one is a good one. Good job.
06/07/2002 11:28:00 PM
would have had a higher vote if so much of the image wasn't blown out.
06/07/2002 02:31:00 AM
if i was taking a shot like this of my dog, it probably wouldn't come out as nice as this because there'd be a big, wet dog slop on the lens from my dog licking it. heh
06/06/2002 10:32:00 PM
haha too cool !
06/06/2002 08:25:00 PM
10.
06/06/2002 01:05:00 PM
So in-your-face. I'd blow out the highlights even more, and just keep the detail in the darks. Upgraded on 2nd look.
06/05/2002 06:13:00 PM
Evil for sure !!!
06/05/2002 02:16:00 PM
Some dogs think they're human. This one almost looks that way. Love the details.
06/05/2002 12:55:00 PM
"here, leezard leezard : ) .." I love this picture. the full frame, tight crop, high contast, high detail, angle of rotation, and facial expression, all ROCK : ). A 9.
06/04/2002 10:29:00 PM
There are so many great shots this time------hard to choose-----this is not my favorite subject, but I think it must be the winner! GOOD JOB---10
06/04/2002 07:38:00 PM
Too close-up for my taste. Great detail, nevertheless.
06/04/2002 03:39:00 PM
I love this shot, especially the reflections in the top eye. Good job in my book!
06/04/2002 03:18:00 PM
This just totally cracks me up. Apart from the little bits of reflection (not the main light -- camera, maybe?) in the eye, which is very minor, I can't see anything I'd try to "fix." Good shot.
06/04/2002 12:18:00 PM
I love the way this photo almost seems bleeched out. The dog's eyes, the bright colors, the GREAT angle -- and most importantly, doing something different. Congrats on this awesome photo.
06/04/2002 10:15:00 AM
COOOOOL! I LOVE this shot! I hate all the boring pet shots, but this one ROCKS. What a great expression and an absolutely perfect close up. Would be curious to know whether this was cropped or not? Great job!
06/04/2002 07:50:00 AM
WOW!! Excellent shot!! I'm speechless.. I'd love this as a poster
06/04/2002 03:16:00 AM
These types of dogs look so inbred to me, but I like how you framed this in a way that accentuates the weirdness of its eyes. The black and white brings out the texture in the hair. Very nice.
06/04/2002 02:53:00 AM
I'd have tried to not lose the detail in the brightest highlights, but that might be your choice to force the viewer to the eye.

BTW -- this would be a great sumbission to the Mirror Project, if you need yet another photo project (//www.mirrorproject.com).
06/03/2002 11:50:00 PM
very nice closeup! The detail is excellent :)
06/03/2002 11:46:00 PM
i dont normally like cat or dog pictures, but this one was well done. i think your contrast and brightness levels are just right.
06/03/2002 09:29:00 PM
Wow! This little dog looks almost like an insect from this close! I like how you were able to capture the incredible texture of the fur on the forehead. Very intense!
06/03/2002 04:47:00 PM
Very nice, love the angle, contrast, use of absolute black and white. Great.
06/03/2002 04:20:00 PM
Big image of a little dog, nice photo.
06/03/2002 04:12:00 PM
It appears that the B&W challenge has drawn out the creativity in people, very good!
06/03/2002 03:56:00 PM
What a face!!! How fun. Great b&w...love the composition. Well done.
06/03/2002 03:40:00 PM
A little to bright on the forehead for me.
06/03/2002 12:43:00 PM
Nice shot though maybe a little over exposed. Great composition.
06/03/2002 10:31:00 AM
I'm scared.........
06/03/2002 05:45:00 AM
Razor sharp focusing - top left is slightly burnt out.
06/03/2002 03:18:00 AM
Cool~~
This dog seems to be saying:
"Hey~Look how handsome I am~"
06/03/2002 01:33:00 AM
Nice sharp image, I can almost feel the wet nose. A bit washed out in the highlights for my taste.
