Now thats a great photo! I like the title as well. I don't think that the outtake is quite as simple and perfect as this one, but it does also have extra elements in regards to this one, and therefore a totally different composition. I would have loved some more goldish coloring, but I have no idea how to process that ;) Good one, Mr. Shipman, and congrats with the 3. place!

Awesome shot! Ive got to agree with the others that the outtake is better, however this shot still rules

I think the outtake picture is better, if only that damned Lens flare wasn't there!

Congrats on the ribbon. It is a great shot, however I do like your outtake better too. The bird behind and the pose seems to be more appealling to the eye.well done though, you still entered a beautiful shot.

I like your outtake a lot better, personally, although this is a rather stunning shot. The one thing that keeps getting me is what she is standing on. The big black chunk really just doesn't do this shot justice, but I understand one has to work with what one has.

I think your model makes this shot work so well. It's my favorite of the challenge. Her athletic, petite figure and the stance taken here is very androgenous, which I think gives it more of a "power of the gods" sort of mood. I love the golden tones, the slight haloing of light around the model, and the simplicity of the shot. Congratulations on a great shot!

Best perspective shot of the lot! Great tonality. Great choice of using a sepia type processing. The only thing I wann know is if the haloing is from oversharpening or if it's from the harsh backlighing. It's the only thing that I think detracts from this shot. Great silhouette. Great use of the square crop. Nicely done!

This is very nice.... Wanted to do it also with both hands, on the top of the sun as well.
Then it would have worked better for me personally if you could see the feets... Like on a beach or something.. Great tones! 7

I like the naked feeling here because it makes it look like it could have been shot at the beginning of times. No one would argue if you said that this was youn Rameses having an encouter with Ra.

Beautiful backlighting creating a lovely halo effect - the way the light comes through the hair is beautiful. Nice pose, accurate positioning of hand. Only thing I don't like is the large thing at the lower left. I'd rather see the continuation of "Apollo"'s silhouette.

This is a very good picture. The only thing I would have done a little different is the placement of the hand. The sun should be placed more over the hand and not so much the arm. Anyway, good job – 7.

I've seen similar photos many times, but this one is particularly well executed. I personally would have cropped a little off the sides (at least the left), but I wouldn't be surprised to find the silhouette of a ribbon around Apollo's neck next week. 9

First Impression: Very good! I like the tone, balance, colours and composition, everything on quite a difficuilt shot. ND Filters?
Was I fooled? No. Too extreme. Doesn't matter. One thing though, It looks as if the sun is supported by the models' wrist. But on the other hand, if the sun was more foreward, the delicate fingers would be lost.
10 Whichever way. I hope this Ribbons!
