this is the kind of up-close and personal photo I've been looking for. well done, way to let the viewer in.

Awesome, you captured the moment! This horn player is the most realistic person, I've ever seen on my monitor. Great detail... give yourself a pat on the back.

Lose the on camera flash. This is a very good shot aside from the harsh lighting.

great clarity. color just doesn't feel quite right. the perspiration is a bit too intense. wish you had composed something a bit further back as i feel we're almost smothering this guy....perhaps that was your intent. background is a bit distracting

I'm sure he's red in the face from blowing that horn, but I would still desat the red tones just a touch Otherwise, good close up. Very clear - with nice detailing.

Not at all keen on the skin tones which are far too red, I'd have attempted some colour balancing in PS. If you're going to have hands in a shot of a musician, don't chop the fingers off. Trumpeter's expression doesn't seem particularly special here... wait for a moment of chemistry when he emotes during a special passage during the music. It's unimaginative and easy to crop so close... I want to see a sense of context... where is he playing, where is he?
