I like your own analysis of your picture (in the "Cheater, cheater ..." thread). It is not presumptuos to analyse your own pictures, but it is quite daring to do so in public :)
To me, you picture is beautiful because it speaks of peace, gentleness and kindness, and good times outdoors, and because it has strong and vibrant colours. It is a very restful picture, yet not at all static. It makes me go, "Ahhhh!", and then, "I need to go for a walk!".
I'm sorry you couldn't keep the ribbon for it. It is a virtual ribbon, but so much fun.

Ah no! What a disaster! Hard luck, man - This was a deserving ribbon winner and it's a shame to see it DQed for such a silly mistake after all the hard work had been done! Either way, digital trinket or no, it's an image to be proud of :)

Two compositional comments: Horizon might be straight but it feels like it is a bit tilted to the right and the horizon s a bit in the centre of the frame.
However, the way the lines work and how the boat is position compensates a lot for that. Love the color and the light on the grass vs the trees, the sky and the reflection. 9 |

| I'm not all that technical and while there is definitely a nice high contrast area on the upper right of your photo, other parts are similar in tonal values. I think this is a beautiful and peaceful photo though. |

Good job, old bear. This is a very nice example of a high-contrast colour image. I like this one a lot. I love how it goes from light to dark when travelling right to left.
