This is what I consider a lucky shot. - -In fact I'm editing this in 2008 and I look back at this image and it is probably the luckiest shot I have eve taken (I was with a group of people and I basically had 10 seconds while they looked at a map)-- I wanted just the perspective of the walkways when this woman came by to speak to "the man in the floor" (this is the translated image name). I don't think I even realized they were there- in fact, I might have been annoyed that they stepped into the scene at teh time ;)

Image taken in Rome, Italy train station.
Made adjustments to color since the light was so messed up from the flourescents -- finally decided to go with a tri-tone effect. Also did a minor rotation of .1 or .2 degrees (can't remember). I should have moved that piece of trash in the center, but somehow that makes it real in some way.

Thanks everyone for the comments and good scores. To answer questions: I could have only removed the debris manually (before the photo). Also: The title means: "The Man in the Floor". I thought this was better not to be blatantly titled since there were a few things to focus on and discover.

This is really good... congratulations on your 5th place. This shot reminds me of my 'live music' entry

Excellent work, I had lighting issues also! :-)

I love shots like these with "captured moments". Reminds me of Henri Cartier Bresson's work. Well done, great shot, and stunning perspective. Sorry I missed the voting, but imo it's a 10.

Very cool capture. How would you have removed the trash (that you mentioned in your Photog Comments) within basic editing rules?

Nice B&W image. I like that you've captured people in the photo, it adds to the photo alot. You've also managed to draw the eye towards the center of the photo, and not off to the side somehow. I hope this places high!

very nice pic, but what does the title mean? I think a lot of people would rather like an english title, but I like the pic

AMazing perspective... too bad you didn't have the guy working on the moving side walk framed a bit more by the gate around him.

The womans expression is almost like "What do you mean your working on the I need"

Wow! I love this. I notice that a lot of the time people will shoot candids and the people in the photo are boring and/or don't tell a story. This photo avoids the problem and keeps me interested with the people, converging lines, and a decent choice of duotone color. 8
