I'm afraid this won't be terribly original, but it is a shot I have wanted to take for sometime. The original was a touch dark, but when I adjusted the white balance, it seemed to lighten up well. Also desaturated some of the red because his hands looked a little too red to me. Quite possibly should have done more but then it looked like a dead person playing. :-/

This photo has lots of feeling. Well done and can almost hear the notes being played.

The focus is wonderful on just the one hand with the depth of field used giving the other hand a feeling of the distance across the keyboard. The composition is very nice and appealling it definately fits the challenge.

Only thing I don't like is there is a C shaped distraction near the bottom of the image in the center that seems to pull your eye down from the hands. I'm actually sitting here trying to figure out what it, if its lighting and shadows or a mark on the wood of the panio.

Overall this is a fantastic photo makes you feel like you are sitting in the same room listening to the music. Well done.

one of the nicest of piano/hand shots. Lighting is not too harsh, and I get a sense of music without odd finger motion blurs.

Interesting shot - I like the composition and color, but I wish there was a bit more lighting on the piano. 8

This, IMO, is the best of the "piano" pics. Nice lighting, and beautiful hands.

I was getting so sick of seeing Hands-on-the-Piano shots I was marking them way down, but this has to be most appealing execution of the bunch. I cant critique the technicals of the photo, its pretty flawless. I like the title, but the shot still loses crucial creativity points for being associated with the cliche. (7)

All y'all with piano shots really are going to have to tell me what you're playing. :)

This is nice, particularly the lighting. It looks much like I'd expect in a concert hall setting, in fact, though I'm not sure why that is -- maybe it's a soft-spot similarity.

One of the better piano shots in this contest

Could do with more movement. The hands look like those of a pianist... but not a good model, that little finger fingernail is bitten! Nice and sharp, good dof. 6

A very crisp image, nice DOF and it makes me think of music - very good.

Out of the piano shots, this one is my favorite. I like the angle at which this was shot. The lighting is even and the color is nice with good skin tone in the hands. DOF is effective. You show good detail in the hand and in the keys. Very nicely done.
