This is such a fantastic shot! I know the horizon has been mentioned before, so I'm gonna leave that alone, but dude, you nailed it - congrats again on your blue!!! WTG!!! I'm really happy for you!

EDIT: Having been to Kinderdijk before myself, I think you captured its essence beautifully. Such a magnificent locale. Great job!

WOW, you were quick to tell me by pm you didn't like my comment on your photo. Well, I don't like nasty pm's, so I deleted it from the server.
Remains the fact that I don't like crooked horizons. Just a matter of opinion. As I said before, it's a beautiful mill.
By the way: I really don't care about numbers, therefor a 6+ average doesn't mean a thing to me.

But...despite that I stick to my own opinion, I'm still a nice person, so...congrats on the ribbon.

Really nice shot Peter! I had this pegged for blue when I saw it. You might ocnsider leveling the horizon on this one now to make it even "purer".

Convincing win. Very convincing, as a matter of fact.
You only have two ribbons but all blue. Now, they really say it all!

Congratulations.

Woohoo... I was one of your 10's. Glad to see you got the blue. Beautiful image. The colors are superb. And capturing the stars like that is the clincher on a knockout performance.

man this is a great shot, but I wish it had a distinctively more tilter horizon, that or straighten it out. Good colors for a night shot as well.

You have probably already received heaps of comments about the horizon. I think that is the only thing that prevents this from being perfect. But in my books I still am in awe of it. 10.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
10/06/2005 07:42:50 PM
Great capture, nice long exposure. I'm guessing a high ISO is the reason for the grain. My biggest nitpick is the tilted horizon.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
10/06/2005 01:32:16 PM
WOW! this is simply amazing!! the cars subtract from the photo a bit but i know theres nothing you could've done about that. I am almost positive this will recieve a ribbon! 9

10/06/2005 11:35:50 AM
please straighten the horizon, you'll then have a lovely photo!

Apart from a slight tilt of the horizon line (to the left), this is a lovely image. The tilt is problematic, though.

Great Picture. I love it. The colors, reflection and the stars through the clouds. Great shot!

Very nice. I like it.

10/04/2005 04:57:56 PM
Pretty colors. I would have preferred the full reflection be visible, if possible. Or maybe a little more foreground, shoreline if that's all there was just outside the frame there. That plant on the left side seems a little out of place, but if there was some foliage all along the base of the image it might have been nice. I don't know, I guess it depends what the actual location was like. Hopefully you did the best you could with what was there. :) It's very pretty, regardless. I'd love to know what your settings had to be to get both that color, and the stars!

I love this but it bothers me that the horizon isn't level. Other than that, the stars, the rich colors and the beautiful scenery is spot on.
  Photographer found comment helpful.
10/03/2005 01:41:16 AM
very wonderful job! there are a few distractions like the foreground plants and the house[?] lights to the left, but the mill is so beautiful you almost don't notice anything else.

Damn is that cool! I like it the way it is, but the horizon ahs a bit of a til to the left, and I would have LOVED to see the whole reflection! 9 anyhow! I was just nit-piking! Best I ahev seen yet!
