 Taken under fluorescent lights, on white paper, macro mode, custom WB, sharpness -2, contrast -2, saturation +2. ISO 64, f8, 1/6 secs.

Post-processing: cropped, adjusted brightness and contrast, adjusted colour, desaturated green, cyan, and blue. Resized and sharpened. Added border (1 px grey picked up from shadow, rest white).

I can't say much bad about this photo. Very good on the technical side - lighting, focus, and colors. Composition seems good to me because the subject isn't in the exact center, which wouldn't work well for this shot. Also very aesthetically pleasing and very creative. Looks like it could be a good stock photo. My only suggestion to make this a better photo concerns the lighting. There could be a little less glare, and with some effort, the shadow under the pencil could be eliminated.

Overall a good photo, as is reflected by your score. Keep shooting!

I find this an interesting subject for the challenge. Kind of on the abstract side. Your subject is nicely framed in your picture. The lighting seems appropriate. Technically, well done. 9 Good luck in the challenge.

Lighting was great, composition was good, subject matter was alright, not really keen on the colour (hard to judge if you don't know if it's close to the objects actual colour). Not a whole lot bad I can say about it. 6 ( 7 was my highest score given in this challenge)
