Man, do I wish I could have a "do-over"! ;^) The solution is so obvious in retrospect - move the wine glass to the right, the wine & glass would show because of the bread and no shadow would be visible. For some reason I had this vision stuck in my head and couldn't "see" anything else.

Oh well - tomorrow's another day. ;^)

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

I like your idea and composition. For me, the wine glass could use a bit more definition as the left hand side of the glass seems to have "disappeared" into the black background. My favorite part is the loaf of bread and the lighting on it. Well done.

a little too much noise IMO. the composition could be a bit more sparkling, or f.e. taking the photo in a lower point of view

I find this very comforting as well as clear and sharp!

i find that the wine disappears into the background, and the wine glass casts a shadow on the bread. the wine ties in nicely with the color of the bible. i would be interested in seeing this shot lit a bit differently to better highlight the wine glass and reduce that shadow effect...

Great take on the challenge and well photographed as well. I particularly like the double light source. The darkness of the wine is the only problem with the image as I 'm sure you've already worked out

I wish somehow they were overlapping and not three things just sitting there. Maybe if the bible were propped up and the bread were up against it. NOt sure. The clarity is pretty decent. The black background works, but the red wine kind of gets lost in it. I wonder if white wouldn't have been a better choice.
