==========================

I took this shot while we were at Mr. Dickeboom's farm, just outside Burlington. We've gone there every year for the past 10 or more years to get our pumpkins (also the location for my celebration shot). A hay ride takes you to a Fairy Tale forest, where this tree is. The face isn't natural, Mr. Dickeboom made it somehow.

Slippy, Congrats on the high finish with this shot. I read the story about the shot and Mr. Dickeboom. In Dutch, the words Dikke Boom translates to Thick Tree!!

Oh My - great job on this shot. great focus and desat really works with this image. An image that would spark the imagination of any child -- well adult for that matter. Well done --9--

Oh, this is just weirdly enjoyable, isn't it? Must have taken years to get the tree shaped like this (from cuts? grafts? Strange occultic practices???). Good comp, B&W makes for an interesting presentation (though I see some purple fringing around some branches where the lighter sky area comes through). Exposure on the tree is very good, bringing out the right amount of detail there...just wish you'd moved a bit more to the right to get rid of that distracting bright (overexposed) sky. But overall, an interesting and very different shot. I like it!

This is great. Love how the chosen angle dramatizes it even more. Just think there's some technical issues that marr the quality of its appeal.

Now this HAS to at least place way up there. That is just incredible.

Tell the truth, you added the eyes. Still it is a very amusing shot and the b&w works very well.

Really cool! I sit here and ponder whether this was man made or naturally occurring. Then I decide, who really cares? I don't really care for the tones in this one but that's a personal choice - for me they just seem to make the image a little flat. 7 - good luck in the challenge!

Unreal!!! You must have known this tree was there well before the challenge theme was announced! What may go unnoticed is the richness of the background. Lots of chrome like properties. Gave it a 9.

Nice face (although it looks too perfect and I'll assume constructed). It captures the feeling, but I wish more of the pic would capture the same feeling (or at least not be quite so reliant on the face). The texture of the bark is nice. I don't like the blowout of the sky as it makes the leaves up there artifact funny. 6

I would have cropped it closer to the "face". For me, there's too much trunk.

WOW! Is that natural??? If it is, it's worth 7 alone for catching it on film!
