shunned tr.v. To avoid deliberately; to keep away from.

I had lots of alternate titles for this shot... "Odd Man Out", "Outcast", "Rejection", "Sad"... hope I picked the right one.

Post-processing was pretty simple... cropped, then used 3 hue/saturation adjustment layers to reduce some blue and yellow in the photo. Resize, add 1-pixel black border.

ImageID: 15019

After-challenge edit: Thanks to the voters and commenters who "got it" and understood what this challenge was really about. I personally thought this entry nailed the "spirit" of this challenge.

Here are a couple out-takes. I went with the shot I did because I thought it was the strongest in "evoking a human feeling" (per the challenge description).

It was my top pick, too. Great idea and excellent execution. Now, are all these lamps going back to the store? :)

As I said in my comment, this was my pick for the blue...well congrats on #6. It was the best and clearest interpretation of the challenge. Completely inanimate, completely unhuman.

I agree with bear. My highest rated shot. it took on immediate human qualities to me. Good job.

I was surprised this didn't ribbon. Deceptively clean and simple, yet reeking of the tile emotion. Well done, Eddy!

Nicely done, although I find the desk a little distracting, I would have cropped more out, none the less a great shot.

Very nicely composed and taken. You make good decisions - The lamp selections were perfect. I love the blue lightbulb in the little guy. I was wondering how to make it less stark. Perhaps a softer background or a table cloth? *shrug*

Yes! I love it! This is my ribbon winner. I hate to say it, but I did a desk lamp entry as well and I think your's is superior. The entries have been low quality, so even though I'm only 1/3rd way thorugh, I bet this may be my only 10.
