I hope this doesn't offend any dwarves on DPC! I took this picture to add to a photograph from Yosemite that had a very hobbitish feel to it with crooked trees and mist and I wanted to edit myself into it and alas I was too big.

LOL, makes me remember Dorf on Golf

I have seen this image a few times and must say that it has impact. Also, the way you framed it goes well with the imagery itself. The horizontal is slightly off but perhaps you wanted it that way.

Nice finish! Glad you're back in the game - can't wait to see how hot we can fire up our page. (my shots this week are all mid 5's, so ... nothing at all cookin).

Interesting shot here. Has that Dorf look! lol

You got DQ there for a bit, but I see it's back. What nice luck! You are definately off centered, but the subject here really doesn't do much for me. I was able to read your description and think this would make a good shot for something like what you were going to do, but individually, it's not too interesting. Lighting is good, and focus and clarity are good. Don't care for the border. Oh, your DQ request wasn't for the border, it was for technique used to make you look short. Guess they thought editing could have been used. And it COULD have, but glad that wasn't the case. :)

self portrait?

Interesting framing/border here. The off centeredness here suggests that this guy--you--has more to him than the photograph could portray, so you've created a negative space. Does that make sense? Well, nice shot.

Love the tilt to the frame - good for off center.Nice B&W - a good range of grays from black to white - and a great face. Very enjoyable

Intelligently framed. good strong image. 9

more negative space than off center but nicely executed. Frame is a little distracting

So, how many comments are you getting about how you did your border and whether it's legal? I trust it's legal, I'd be curious to find out how you did it after the challenge though. As for the photo, it meets the challenge, great b&w with nice amounts of contrast, good lighting. Good job :)

Interesting framing -- I think it adds a lot to the shot, which itself is interesting.

Really weird crop on this one. Are you sitting on your knees? I'd've liked it if there was more contrast between you and the background.
