Shot in RAW, in CL1 I bumped the exposure just short of total blow out, about a stop and a half, and upped color contrast to increase ripple and feather edges. sent to CS and cropped, levels, took out a bit of the yellow in selective color, selective lighten in hue/ sat of most of the other colors to lighten water. USM, shrink for web and USM again.

Post, post challenge. I agree that the framing is not ideal, the egret( called him a stork in the title for the pun value) was walking along and hopped into the air, so the framing was too tight to adjust the framing, all the crop was off the top, it is full frame along the bottom.
The ripples are the result of the dropletts he kicked up on take off.
thanks for all the comments.

Good pic,,, could be better if the stork was a little to the left flying in to the picture (e.g., roughly on the 1/3 line)

Is this really a photograph? It seems so...

Loved this shot, such a shame for me that the subject wasn't more central. I'm glad you didn't crop it any more width wise (assuming you cropped it at all) It needed the width. I gave it a 9

This is a very beautiful photo. I would like to see a similar crop with more at the bottom and less at the top. Mainly because I think there is interest in the water drops under the bird.

A wider crop would be beneficial.

gorgeous capture, only thing I can see is MAYBE (JUST maybe) cropping some of the excess water, putting the heron more on the left third, may not even be possible, but this is DEFINITLY my favorite of this challenge, may not be a good thing BTW LOL

I would like to see more on the right and less on the left - as it is now I feel like I'm really looking at the right two thirds of the image.

Very nice capture. I would have liked to see more negative space in front of the Heron if possible. Scored it high anyway. Good luck.

Wow, great picture. I love the stork and the water droplets. The feathers are so purely white, and the yellow adds the perfect accent. Good job.
