Love the light in this photo, as well as the facial expression. The white color on your shirt was a good idea as well. Great photo!!

You are certainly the champion of the self portrait. very good light usage.

The great lighting really helps to make the portrait very dramatic. The b&w also help to keep your eyes focused on the subject. I can see this as a great picture on the back of a book.

It seems like a lot of people went for the side lighting/ half of the face darkened idea, but you did it well. I really like the fact that your white color keeps your whole left side from becoming too dark. Nice composition and cropping.

I like the lighting in this one. I prefer this to those in which you cannot see half of the face at all. Handsome model.

Greetings DPCer,
This one looks like some famous musician. Like something you might see on a CD cover. Nice texture. Hmm The first one so far that I feel is beyond my ability to critique. 10

Both subject ( interesting, appealing features) and manner (conservative framing/focal distance and subdued sharpness, side-lit, b & w)) make for a sensitive and very satisfying portrait.

Congratulations, also on your looks! ;-)

A very stylish image. The shadows work well and the choice of black and white is good. The upturned white collar gives it a great GQ feel. I also like the slightly off-center composition with the eyes not looking directly at the camera, adds to the broody feel of the portrait.
