The color treatment in this image is very attractive - it's understated without being underdone or looking washed out. The elements of this picture hold together well; the lake is well placed, as is the tree in the lower right foreground.

I gave this a 6 during the challenge - and I would have given it higher marks if it were just a bit sharper. May I suggest another pass of USM at, say, 0.4 radius, 70%, 0 threshold? I'd really be interested in seeing this touched up just a bit.

edit- I just threw this into photoshop myself to see what'd happen if I applied my own suggestion. What I wound up with was duplicating the image layer, and using 0.4, 100%, 0 threshold, and then masking off the sky and the tree in the LL. The difference is subtle but IMO significant.

Focus is the main issue here. The close bush is the only thing in focus. There is alittle noise in the sky. I do like the composition of this image.

Very soft focus and the clouds have midtones (reddish/purplish noise) coming through. I think your composition is all wrong because the only thing is sharp focus is the bush on the right. The border adds nothing but another distraction to the photo.

Such a lovely site but technically, this could have been a lot better.

As a rule it is very difficult to combine sky and land without special filters and get a good photo. In this picture the camera has taken the exposure from the light sky and that is why the land (which is more interesting) has become too dark. I would have concentrated on land and made a panoramic pic with a sky of only 1/5 of the present. This is a great sight!

For me, the bush in the foreground disrupts the composition, and the rest seems a little too noise reduced.

There's a very distinctive "feel" to this shot. I'm not sure what it is (gaussian blur?) but I do like it.

this is a gorgeous picture, but it needs sharpening! it would have been a very easy step that would have made so much difference...
