 Did this in the garage, too windy outside. Had a big pan lid, a fire extiguisher, and a big bucket of water ready. Only needed the lid. Tried WD40 first, would not light, then tried paint thinner, did not light. Didn't have lighter fluid on hand, so ripped a disk shape of kleenX, laid it on the disc, set on an old mirror slightly raised, then soaked the kleenx with paint thinner and lit, Whoosh! Up it went about 2 ft. Took several shots trying to control the exposure as the fire size changed and died out quickly. Used some AOL disks. Knew they'd come to use some day!

This is very beautiful. I love the almost silk-like appearance of the fire. Great idea and superb execution. It almost feels like the disc is being passed through by a 'bolt' of flame. Good job.

edit: additionally I must say that I whole-heartedly approve of your means of disposal for AOL discs.

OMG, I have found the Blue for this challenge. What can I say? Perfect pun and one of the most brilliant photos I have seen in a long time. If it was a little less centred it would have to be a 10, only makes 9 so far.
